W.G.D.S. Water Picnic

Date :    Sunday 22nd July 2018
Venue :    The Lenches Lakes , Evesham Road, Church Lench WR11  4UB
Time:    10am – 4pm
Cost :    £5 per dog for members.    £7 per dog for non members

This is a fun day spent in beautiful surroundings playing with our dogs! There will be approx. 5 exercises around the lakes and woodlands. Each exercise will be manned by an experienced handler or trainer to talk you through what to do and help you achieve it. All the exercises can be adapted to suit a variety of abilities. There will be a BBQ available at lunchtime but all food must be ordered by Friday 13th July and paid for on the day.

Vegetable Samosa crisps and coleslaw £5

You are also welcome to bring your own picnic if you prefer. Coffee & Tea are also available at the club house but, again, you are welcome to bring your own.

Training Day for W.G.D.S. Spaniels with Bob Aldenton & Natalie Cannon

Time :    9.30am – 3.30pm
Venue :    Long Itchington    full address to be given with final details
Level :    Novice to Advanced.
Group sizes :    2 x 7 dogs.   All handlers will run under both trainers during the day
Cost :    £55 per person to include 5 hours of training and lunch provided.

Preference will be given to WGDS members if this event is over subscribed. KC Working Gundog Certificate using Dummies will also be available during this day. This will cost an additional £10 and must be booked and paid for by Friday 13th July.

Beginner Training for WGDS Spaniels & Retrievers with Lisa Harris ( from ‘ The First Steps’ )

Lisa Harris – KCAI accredited and a TCBTS Trainer Member. Lisa has been teaching for over 15 years and is also Retriever FT Secretary for Worcestershire Gun Dog Society. She has owned and trained (to field and/or trial standard) Flatcoats, Goldens, Labradors and Cockers. This session is for beginners and Lisa will be using her specially designed ground in Broadway.

Summer Training 4 week Course 2018

Venue:   Tythe Barn, Alcester Road , Harvington, WR11 8NT.
Dates:   June 14th ; June 21st : June 28th : July 5th.
Time:   7pm – 9pm.
Cost:   Members £30 per course ( 1 dog only). Non members £45 per course ( 1 dog only)
Closing Date for booking:   Wednesday 6th June 2018.

Places will be allocated as ‘first come first served’ and dependant on the availability of the volunteers trainers available.

The general purpose of this course is to offer training & guidance for general obedience , which is required in Field Sports & Competitions.

The Beginners Course: ( all breeds together) will be working on Foundation Skills such as Sit/Stay on command : walk to heal both on and off the lead: Stop to the whistle : recall. This course will be run as 2 x 1 hour sessions. 1 hour for dog & handler working and 1 hour observing.

The Novice Courses: are for dogs that can do all of the above most of the time (!) and will be working on a variety of skills suited to their breed type.

The Intermediate Groups: will be covering similar skills to the novice classes but over longer distances and with more distractions.
