Dave Barker
Dave Barker has been a member of the Society since 1993. He was first elected onto the committee in 1997 and served as Treasurer before being elected Chairman in 2000. He has a keen interest in both the countryside and working dogs, which he says comes from a rural upbringing and spending many hours in his younger years in the company of some old fashioned Gamekeepers. Having had English Springers since the 1960’s he changed over to working Labradors over 25 years ago. In recent years he has worked Cocker Spaniels in addition to his Labradors. From 1995 until it closed in the year 2000 Dave was employed by Hindlip Agricultural College as an Instructor taking Novice and Intermediate Gun Dog Training Courses. He continues to take Retriever classes on behalf of the Society. In addition to being a member of a small shoot, Dave picks-up on six other shoots in the Worcestershire/Gloucestershire area. |
